Her Fragrance Is Still Among Us
Amanda Greene is a photographer and artist living in rural Georgia. Showing her quilted textile works here for the first time in a formal setting, Greene has incorporated photography into the quilts by having photographic images printed on various fabrics. The quilts are shown along with a group of traditional photographs showcasing various scenes from domestic and day-to-day life. “Her fragrance is still among us” is a term the artist heard at a funeral service and the sentiment speaks to lingering immortality, things left behind.
Exhibit showing at The Hudgens Center, Duluth, GA until April 20, 2024
